Hello, now we'll do some exercises. Practise makes perfection!
If you've missed the Lesson 2, click here: http://ciray.blogspot.cz/2013/10/lesson-2-greetings.html
So, read the descriptions of situations and choose the appropriate greeting. Good luck to you!
1) You've moved in to a new house in the Czech republic. One day in the morning, you get up and go out to check your mailbox. While you're checking it, you note that a curious neighbour is staring at you. What do you say? (Don't be rude, hehe.)
2) It's your first day at school. You're sitting at your desk, when a classmate sits next to you and says hello. What do you say?
3) Your husband/ wife has invited you to their house. She/ he wants you to meet her/ his parents. How do you greet them?
4) You're with your friend, but, unfortunately, you have to leave. What do you tell them?
Post your answers below, I'll check them. ;)
Hi Ciray... thank you for these lessons and exercises and I'd like to ask you if you could make some more exercises? I'm going to the Czech Republic (Prague) in September and I don't wanna sound silly so I'm trying to learn at least Ahoj, jak se mas? and so one lol... I've stumbled up ur blog and I'm happy for that because you have a personal approach towards it and I can be sure your information is 100% correct as you're a native speaker...
ReplyDeleteI just have one suggestion, could you write the Other Stuff section in Czech too? That'd be helpful for many learners... I'm not saying you should do it straight away but think about that. Best wishes
M.
Hello!
DeleteThank you for your comment. Umm, yes, before answering, I managed to make two exercises for the Lesson 3, but still there are not many things to test you on because the lessons are really short. But I'll do my best to improve them and teach you as much as I can.
The information I give in my lessons should be correct but I'm not sure about those in my "random posts", though, hehe.
Yes, I've been thinking about translating them many times but I thought a story or a narrative would be better matter to work with as it's better for explaining the grammar. I appreciate your suggestion anyway.
Have a beautiful day
love & peace
